Hot Air Balloons

The US Team Nationals is an annual week-long competition that brings together the top 30 balloon pilots from across the United States. These ten teams of three will have two practice days, and five days of competition from June 7th-13th, 2021.

Team competition involves three pilots working together to achieve team goals and objectives. Starting with basic AXMER rules, team competition rules are modified and sometimes expanded to include tasks requiring the coordinated effort of all team members to achieve a single result. Each team is in a row together below, along with the information of each pilot and balloon.

History

On September 19, 1783 Pilatre De Rozier, a scientist, launched the first hot air balloon called ‘Aerostat Reveillon’. The passengers were a sheep, a duck and a rooster and the balloon stayed in the air for a grand total of 15 minutes before landing.
